We are delighted to be instructed by the Trustees of The United Charities of Romaldkirk in connection with this project. The project is in two parts: the conversion and subdivision of the existing Church Hall to provide two one bedroom residential units, and the conversion and modernisation of the properties in Hutchinson Terrace to form two, two bedroom residential units with contemporary bathrooms & kitchens. At the same time the scheme will upgrade the services installations, and provide current standards of thermal insulation to the Hutchinson Terrace properties.

Both properties are Grade II listed and feature mid-late 19C stonework, stone and slate covered roofs, and elaborate stone hood moulds to windows and doors.

We have obtained both Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent for the Works to both properties, and have been granted Building Regulations approval for the Works to the Church Hall. The Church Hall has been sold with the benefit of the Planning Permission and Building Regulations Approval. The funds from which will be reinvested into the charitable trust.

The project at Hutchinson Terrace commenced on Site in Q2 of 2023 and is now nearing completion. The refurbishment works to those properties expanded to the re-slating of the entire roof, including new leadwork to stone watertables; the provision of a new underground drainage system; the provision of new underground water supply pipework; and, the reconstruction of low stone walling and relaying of paving to the perimeter of the properties.
