Consultancy Services
JPA offer a complete range of architectural and consultancy services, from pre-design advice, feasibility and brief preparation to delivery of the project on site, for new build, refurbishment and extension projects.
The provision of consultancy services has been part of the Practice’s work since its establishment in 1979. We have been, and are, engaged in many aspects of the design and construction of buildings, from the smallest components to the most complex construction technologies. We have assisted product manufacturers in the development and marketing of new and existing components and systems; advised government departments upon design guidance for external consultants; and, have been involved with various test programmes to develop new products and product applications, including product development of innovative walling and cladding materials.
We continue to act as Expert Witness in construction disputes throughout the UK. We prepare detailed appraisals of causes of failure with recommendations for remedial works, including cost estimates. We also consider and advise upon allegations of negligence by consultants, and in connection with adaptations to property consequent upon personal injury claims, particularly those arising from road traffic accidents.
We have experience in the giving of evidence in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC) having attended the TCC in London and Liverpool and have also been instructed as Single Joint Experts. We are instructed by solicitors, insurers, loss adjustors, building owners, contractors, consultants, and also private individuals. Please see link below for previous list of instructions.
As part of our litigation and dispute resolution work, we are involved in investigating the causes of failure in buildings. We frequently open up buildings to identify and record the cause, extent, and nature of the defects. We can investigate buildings of any size and complexity and prepare expert reports, as well as develop schemes of remedial works.
